Who the session is for: International postgraduate research students at any stage

This session is designed to equip international PGRs with the skills and knowledge to successfully search and apply for UK academic positions.  It aims to support international PGRs to better understand the UK academic labour market.  They will also learn about a range of recruitment process typically used and how to succeed at each stage.

  • Understand the UK academic labour market and how it is developing
  • Evaluate the skills and competencies UK Higher Education Institutes typically look for
  • Recognise and prepare for different recruitment tasks
  • Manage their career planning
  • Know where to seek further sources of support
