You are invited to a Northumbria University CONNECT on Tourism, Creative Industries and their role in Economic Development in the North-East.
There are growing funding and impact opportunities associated with the tourism, heritage and the creative industries, and their link to economic development in the region, as a result of emerging policy developments such as the Industrial Strategy’s anticipated Tourism Sector Deal, the NELEP’s Strategic Economic Plan and the development of the Local Industrial Strategy, and the new North of Tyne Combined Authority’s focus areas.
This event aims to bring together academics from across the disciplines with an interest in research, knowledge exchange and education in this space, to strengthen collaboration and develop potential initiatives to take advantage of upcoming opportunities. The format of the session will be facilitated introductions, mapping of themes and expertise, developing of potential ideas for collaboration and partnerships, agreement of next steps.
