Impact Writing Workshop - Research to Actual Impact: Making the Links in your Impact Case Study In-Person

Research to Actual Impact: Making the Links in your Impact Case Study

This workshop is for members of staff working on impact case studies for submission to REF2021.

Writing your case study narrative can be a challenge. The new impact case study writing workshops provide you with the training and tools required to create strong narrative links between your underpinning research, your activities (pathways to impact) and finally joining these up to the 'actual impact'. The technique we use delivers a compelling story of change across your template which was a successful strategy demonstrated in high scoring REF 2014 case studies.

The workshops are facilitated by the Impact Team, who will provide guidance and feedback throughout the day, supporting you to draw out the critical elements of your case study and craft a compelling narrative in your template. There are opportunities to update your template throughout the day, so please bring a laptop with you. Contact your impact officer if you do not have a laptop and we will endeavour to provide one for you, where possible.

If you would like to use any part of the day as a writing retreat, a quiet break-out room will be provided.

Please bring your laptop and a hard copy of your latest impact case study template.

Writing workshops are open for arrival from 9am, with welcome at 9.15am and finish at 4.30pm. Coffee and tea are provided. Please bring your own lunch.
