Grant Writing Ignite In-Person

Grant Writing Ignite is a practical session designed to ignite the development of your research ideas and kick start the process of shaping them into a research proposal.

Who is this session for: Any academic staff member, any experience in grant writing. This session is suitable for those who would welcome a boost to their productivity and creativity. All we ask is that you already have your idea, or the beginnings of an idea, so that you can then develop and craft that idea in the two hour workshop. This workshop could be very helpful if you would welcome motivation to start grant writing.

What the session consists of: Research Development Managers will introduce you to helpful tools to ignite the development of your ideas into a proposal. You will then put one or more of these tools into practice.

What you will achieve: By the end of this two hour session, you will have an outline of your research proposal, including the aims, objectives, methodology, deliverables, stakeholder management and impact plan, and work plan with milestones. You will also have an action plan on what to do next to complete your proposal.

At the session, you will be able to access guidance from Research Development Managers, and to bounce your ideas off them. If you are planning on working with other academic colleagues at Northumbria, you are encouraged to invite them to register for the same session, so you can work together.

Please note that places are allocated on a first come, first served basis. There are 12 places per session.
