PGR 'Town Hall' Event In-Person
We would like to invite you to a PGR ‘Town Hall’ event.
This on campus event will be an opportunity for you to meet with the Graduate School including the leadership team, PGR Directors, and PGR Student Representatives. We would like you to discuss topics relating to your research experience with us and help prioritise future plans. For example, areas for discussion might relate to supervision, resources, research culture, researcher development, and teaching opportunities.
We will also be hearing from our guest speaker, Dr Phil Bell, who will be delivering a keynote speech: "A life beyond the PhD"
Phil is the CEO and founder of ART Health Solutions, a company concerned with using data and to optimise employee health and performance, with the aim to create more resilient, high performing employees through evidenced based solutions.
Phil was a Northumbria graduate and completed his PhD in human physiology and nutrition at Northumbria. After graduation he had positions in academia and with GSK before starting up his own company. Phil will talk about his journey as a PGR student and the opportunities that a Northumbria PhD was able to afford him.
Dr Sophie Cole will also provide an update on our Postgraduate Researcher Introduction to Teaching Programme.
This is a great opportunity for postgraduate researchers from across the University to come in-person and we look forward to seeing you there.
