3MT® is a fantastic way to present your research in front of your colleagues, synthesising your research and findings into just three minutes! This is a supportive yet competitive way of making your mark in your research community, and gives you the chance to network with your fellow researchers. The winner of Northumbria University's 3MT® competition will get the chance to compete in the Nationals held later this year.

This session is designed to give you all of the training and information you will need to be successful in the competition. Anyone who is interested in the competition and would like to find out more is welcome to sign up. The session will cover:

• What the competition is and why you should take part​

• The rules​

• The presentation​ of your research

• How to communicate with a non-specialist audience ​

• The slide ​you will use to present your findings

• The performance!

This year's competition will take place on Thursday 8 June 2023. Please note that this training session will take place on Wednesday 3 May.

The 3MT® competition is aimed at students in their second year of study up to and including their final year.
